With spring on the horizon, we have found some tasty and innovative beverages for you to try. Looking at emerging and popular trends in the industry, as well as some offbeat ideas, we came up with the following recipes.

Cold Brew Coffee Drinks

Cold brew coffee has been popular for a while now, but let’s look at some new ways to make this favourite drink even cooler! Cold brew coffee is often unflavoured, to let the unique characteristics of the coffee beans shine through, but it has also been paired with flavours that are commonly used with iced coffee, like vanilla or caramel. Here are a few recipes to try with some more unusual add-ins, like chai or irish cream.

 

Dirty Chai Cold Brew

Start with your 16 oz serving glass of ice.

2 oz Cold Brew concentrate

2 oz Ambient Moon Chai

4 oz whole milk

Shake and serve.

 

Irish Coffee Soda

¾ oz Torani Irish Cream Syrup

2 oz cold brew coffee concentrate

6 oz sparkling water

Ice

Mix first 3 ingredients and serve over ice.

 

Cold Brew Float

Put a scoop of vanilla ice cream in your serving glass and top with ready to serve cold brew (not concentrate). A great summer alternative to the affogato.

 

Floral Flavours

Botanical flavours are trending, in hot or cold drinks. Herbal teas like Two Leaves and a Bud Purposeful Hydrate Tea contain hibiscus, mint and rosehip, for a refreshing burst of fruity florals. Herbal teas can be used to make flavoured water, a healthier alternative to soda or sweetened juices. On the other hand, if you’re looking for a decadent drink, using floral syrups to add flavour, can give you many options for seasonal drinks.

 

Lavender Latte

1 oz. Torani Lavender Syrup

8 oz. milk, steamed

2 shots espresso

Garnish suggestion: edible flower petals

Add syrup to milk and steam, make espresso shot and then pour latte.

 

Purple Haze Soda

1/2 oz. Torani Lavender Syrup

1/2 oz. Torani Blackberry Syrup

6 oz sparkling water

Ice

Mix first 3 ingredients and serve over ice.

Finish with a squeezed lemon wedge.

 

Hydrate Tea Infused Water

1 sachet Two Leaves & a Bud Hydrate Tea

Mint or orange slice for garnish

Pop the sachet of herbal tea into a glass of cold water for a flavourful thirst quencher. Let it steep for 3-5 minutes, and add a bit of mint or orange for garnish.

 

 

Fruit Shrubs

A shrub, or drinking vinegar, is a zingy combo of fruit and vinegar, that has a long history stretching back to the Babylonians.  While it was once used as a natural health remedy, apple cider vinegar is making a comeback, because of its complex and savory overtones.

Our version of this old-school beverage combines berry flavours with apple cider vinegar.  It’s a new twist to an old beverage that is not only tart and refreshing, but also has a bold, formidable taste.

 

Strawberry Shrub

3 oz     Strawberry Acai Tropics Refresher

3 oz     water

¾ oz – 1 oz Raw Organic Apple Cider Vinegar

12 oz glass of ice

Shake in a cocktail shaker and garnish with a basil leaf or berries.
